NICK CAVE - Leonard Cohen's Suzanne

"For you've touched her perfect body with your mind"..

BIG Poetry..!!

Magic Moments, Bigger than Life, Live..!
Cover better than original..

Suzanne takes you down to her place newer the river
You can hear the boats go by
You can spend the night beside her
And you know that shes half crazy
But thats why you want to be there
And she feeds you tea and oranges
That come all the way from china
And just when you mean to tell her
That you have no love to give her
Then she gets you on her wavelength
And she lets the river answer
That youve always been her lover
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For youve touched her perfect body with your mind.

And jesus was a sailor
When he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching
From his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain
Only drowning men could see him
He said all men will be sailors then
Until the sea shall free them
But he himself was broken
Long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him
And you want to travel blind
And you think maybe youll trust him
For hes touched your perfect body with his mind.

Now suzanne takes you hand
And she leads you to the river
She is wearing rags and feathers
From salvation army counters
And the sun pours down like honey
On our lady of the harbour
And she shows you where to look
Among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed
There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever
While suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For shes touched your perfect body with her mind.

Fall Lights..!

Why autumn (fall) shines a golden light ?

The tilt of the planet on its axis at autumn creates our gilded season..
As you know, if there is any possibillity to have any reader of my blog, I do love Fall or Autumn or Φθινόπωρο in Greek, anywhere (I prefer the seaside places by the way, walking  barefooted on the sa(n)dy sand)..
I am in love with the colours, the shadows, the shades, the schemes and especially  THE MAGIC LIGHTS of this beloved season of the year ..

I discovered an awesome article from The Seattle Timesfrom the  staff reporter of this newspaper  Lynda V. Mapes ..

Here it is:
Now comes our gilded season, as the arrival of autumn brings low, slanting light and that fleeting feeling, knowing the blue skies and gold light will too quickly fade to our long season of gray.
From the back-to-school rhythm lingering long past our school years, to the first plangent honks of geese and tang of wood smoke and burn piles: Who can bear the poignancy of this season?
Then comes the light: thick, plush, gold. It's not your imagination: The light really is different right now, and changing fast.
Dale Durran, chairman of the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington, explains it all:
The position of the sun in the sky is changing. That, in turn, alters how we perceive color and light. In the height of summer, the sun is as far overhead as it gets. But the sun drops and drops after the summer solstice in June — and the change speeds up at the midpoint toward winter. Right about now.

The seasons are the result of the tilt of our planet on its axis as we orbit the sun. Picture a tennis ball on a pen, with the pen held at a 23.5-degree angle. Now rotate the ball (Earth) on the same angle, fixed around a stationary object (the sun).
The farther from the equator, the more obliquely the sun's light strikes Earth — that's the longer, slanted light we are bathed in now, instead of the full-on beams we bask in at high summer.
And the journey will continue in the progression toward winter, taking us into shorter days, with the sun even lower on the horizon.
But not first without this gleaming farewell, through the golden hours of this season.
Add the steam fog rising off Lake Washington and Puget Sound, and these autumn mornings are too pretty to leave for our fluorescent-lit boxes — offices, schools and the like.

The steam fog is the result of autumn's chill air, arriving in the morning over water still warmed from summer. The temperature difference causes water to evaporate from the surface and recondense as it mixes with the cooler air, in a rising, twining mist. Arctic sea smoke, or steam fog, as it's called, is the result.
Fall color? That will depend on whether the wind and rain crash the party early, or if nature lets this sweet season linger.
Earlier this week, the spider webs glittered in the morning light, and sunlit, golden afternoons beckoned. Today, rain.
Take a tip from Durran, a master sky-watcher: "Go out," he said, "and you can appreciate what's there."

The Sea Drama of the century..

These days I am readin the best Tomalin's en Hall book "The Strange Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst"..

Donald Crowhurst  (1932–1969) was a British businessman and amateur sailor who died while competing in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, a single-handedround-the-world yacht race. Crowhurst had entered the race in hopes of winning a cash prize from The Sunday Times to aid his failing business. Instead, he encountered difficulty early in the voyage, and secretly abandoned the race while reporting false positions, in an attempt to appear to complete a circumnavigation without actually circling the world. Evidence found after his disappearance indicates that this attempt ended in insanity and suicide..!

Here's the trailer of the documentary movie  "Deep Water" based in the abovementioned journey into one mans heart , battling treacherous seas en his own demons (available in Amazon.co.uk) ..

A story of how your dreams can kill, live or leave you ..

A Miracle happened..

MOVIE MAGIC ... Did you happen to catch
"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"? I have to
admit I had limited interest in the movie
and need some convincing to watch it,
but I'm glad I did. Without revealing anything
about the plot, the scene with Kristen Wiig singing
 David Bowie's "Space Oddity" is
one of the most charmingly memorable scenes I've
watched in some time.

For music trivia geeks like me, I thought it was an
interesting touch that Wiig is strumming a 12-string guitar,
the kind used by Bowie during the recording of the original
song. Some real uplifting moments in the film and some great
use of music by Arcade Fire and Of Monsters and Men..!!!!
